On the ribbon bar "View" you can activate checkboxes to simplify multi-selection. Does this solve your problem?
The user interface of UltraSearch is more oriented towards Windows Explorer than other utilities such as Total Commander, because this is what most people already know.

Dankeschoen! But we have evolved, as you will agree. Windoze is not the best in these matters. The selected items get lost, if distracted or (accidentally) clicking. But thanks. Ich kann damit leben ;-)

Yes, and this is exactly why we introduced the (optional) checkboxes. Have you tried them? They work different compared to Windows Explorer regarding an accidental loss of the selection.
Of course there are multiple ways to achieve this goal, like often. We think that this approach also solves the problem but is more intuitive for new users.
I will leave this request open to see the votes and comments of other users.
