Log time taken to perform search

It would be nice to see how long file searches take, either shown on the screen or preferably logged to a historical file.
I know its faster than Windows Search, but unless I babysit the search, I won't know how long it actually took.

Why do you think this is important for users to know this?
What should a user do with this information?
Windows Search doesn't show a time either, so he can't compare

It would be helpful for your corporate users to justify yearly payment for the service, and additional licenses for all employees. Questions management might ask are:
1.. Doesn't Windows have search built-in?
2.. Why should we pay for something that is FREE?
3.. If it saves us time, how much time does it save.
4.. How often do we actually use this?
5.. How long did it take to do a search?

It is true that Windows search does not have a timer, but it is also FREE. For question #3, I can give a somewhat vague answer, backed up by actual statistics.

"I can confirm that on some searches, it took almost a full day or 2 to finally give me 1 result. With Ultra Search, it took 5hrs and 43mins." I am looking for all the data I can get to justify the yearly expense.

I would also think your team could benefit from the additional analysis, as it would help you set benchmarks, and help in future revisions to backup claims that you were able to speed up search by X factor.
