Here is a suggestion to implement a feature that would let a user name a place (for instance, a catalog or workspace or collection, and be able to drag in files or folders or link to them. I know windows has libraries but i am not convince this is a comprehensive implementation.

US already has the beginnings of what you might call a catalog, in your search that can list files that reside in different locations. In fact, this already works, if you just consider the results of a search to be a catalog. To enhance what you have, you'd want to be able to edit a search, and change it's search parameters. And it should be a self contained container that you could add to by copying in other files or folders. Just thing of a project, in phase 1 you find your self using an excel and a word file and a file from tableau and an sql file, if possible the name of sql tables; so you'd want to have all the files for this in one catalog. In addition, you'd want to be able to tag each file, with a keyword, and you might want to have a note field, where you could write some additional project related note. Of course, you could start by creating a catalog, and then running searches to find relevant files to add to a catalog. Thanks, Steve
