TreeSize is able to scan the Google Drive content only if it is synchronized to the local PC using Google's client. It would be good if a Google Drive account could be scanned directly.

Google Drive is horrible, doesnt provide any type of information. This would be really needed. But it would be good for us to also be able to select which folder to scan, as I know based on my experience with DaisyDisk App that Google Drive ends up with a timeout if you have too many files.
Makes sense.. if they can crawl the online storage provider's hierarchy so we can see sizes throughout, maybe do a first-pass top-level scan and present the subfolders... we could select all or just one (or expand it and select a subfolder to crawl).
This feature's been long-needed, and cloud storage providers like Google and Dropbox *still* haven't come a long way in making it easy to identify where our space-hogs are! (why would they... the less efficient we are at cleaning up, the more $$ they get from us using their storage servers!)
VERY much looking forward to this feature, and happily paying for the upgrade to that version of TreeSize so we can benefit from it. :-)
So when you implement the Google Drive scan, would Dropbox be in-scope for that body of work too? Both are sorely need for a management tool like TreeSize -- I think they intentionally make it hard for ppl to know their consumption so they can keep ppl buying more space from them!
So lovely to see this is planned for a future version! Would the work for this extend to other cloud services, like Dropbox? I know there's a similar request to scan non-local Dropbox file systems too.

This would much needed! When we have large Google Drives we cant list the folders that are taking the most space.

It would be useful to access one's Google Drive with your app

It would be very valuable to know the sizes of holders and subfolders in Google Drive, directly without synchronizing all to a local drive.

The is also a post for Dropbox: jam-software.upvoty.com/b/treesize/support-scanning-dropbox-without-local-synchornization/
It depends on the number of votes when we will address these features.
