Use EXIF metadata to identify duplicate photos

TreeSize is incredible for managing large photo collections, particularly those with multiple contributors (i.e. other family members) or have been compiled from multiple locations (e.g., PCs, Macs, External Drives, USB Drives, Cloud, etc.). It has literally saved me months of work identifying duplicates.

However, once duplicates are identified, I still need to switch to another software to read the EXIF data for organizing files in a structured, hierarchical, fashion based on the date the photo was taken. (yeah, I get the whole album thing but still like a little structure to my file collections)

Given we are finally paying for the bait and switch of "free" cloud photo management providers like Google Photos where free uploads to our cloud collection will no longer be free after June 2021, many people are reverting to private solutions and home based clouds like personal Network Attached Storage. (NAS) devices.

Given what I've see so far of TreeSize, adding in support for scanning EXIF could be a relatively easy addition and could open up a HUGE new market.

Just sayin... :)

find duplicates based on picture taken date in combination with file name and type would be great...

I rephrased the title to have a more focused feature request. Feel free to open more request for the same area.

There are two aspects here.
The first is access to metadata of photos. TreeSize already provides this in the same manner as Windows Explorer does. That means, you can activate additional columns for them and the TreeSize File Search can search in this metadata. If features are missing in this area, we can add them and a more specific feature request would be appreciated.
The second aspect is the duplicate search. If it is sufficient to find duplicates by the date the photo was taken, this would be doable with reasonable effort. Some photo management software goes beyond and even compare the images based on the context (pixels), this would be out of scope for Treesize.

In any case, more focused features requests would be appreciated.
