I'm sorry, but a similar folder search will not be part of this feature request. A similar folder search is a quite complex feature, but we have it already included in our product SpaceObServer for some years: www.jam-software.com/spaceobserver/compare-folders.shtml
Currently TSP only works at file level, however cutting out duplicate folders would mean cutting out well over half of duplication. It will take a more manageable number of steps (in double figures), to appraise and decide to keep, rather than thousands of steps. TSP does a great job in identifying duplicates, and offers many options for deletion (oldest etc), however most of the time one option does not suit all and decision-making has to be done at file level. Having tried it on my home laptop, and run some searches at work. The latter is a busy government department where the deletion of the wrong duplicate causes hours of searches and much frustration among staff- deletion decisions have to be made at file level (is this duplicate in the most intuitively right folder? does this duplicate have the right name? was this duplicate accessed recently?). If we could make deletions at folder level we could cut down by 70% of duplicates in only a few steps rather than thousands (in my experience most sections don't have the time to make that decisions and duplicates stay in place).

This would be fantastic. Right now I'm doing compare folders, but when folders haven't been copied 1:1 in the same structure as duplicates, this method is pretty limited and very manual. An identical folder search would be a game changer. Honestly, I would probably use that feature the most out of everything you provide.
If folders haven't been copied 1:1, they are not identical and so wouldn't be found by an identical folder search. Similar to files that differ in 1 bit.
Years ago we noticed the problem that usually directory trees are rarely 100% identical, which is why we integrated a search for similar folders in our product SpaceObServer: www.jam-software.com/spaceobserver/compare-folders.shtml
SpaceObServer - is too expensive for most home users.
- Doesn't have good file actions to deal with the found similar folders
- Doesn't export in csv, so can't use the list elsewhere (it's space delimited)
- Compare is by filename OR MD5. Can't use both as a requirement.
- My test of the trial was disappointing.

La possibilité de comparer deux répertoires est une fonctionnalité qui manque à cet utilitaire.

"Doesn't export in csv, so can't use the list elsewhere (it's space delimited)"
There are several export formats for the similar folders (“Similar Folder > Save List”), including CSV.
"Compare is by filename OR MD5. Can't use both as a requirement"
Sorry, but we think this is a little bit "off topic" here. Please open a new feature suggestion for this enhancement.
