This would enable to narrow the search, and for large drives shorten the search time by giving a range eg minimum 1 MB & maximum 20MB
I'd also like to see a maximum size option for duplicate file searches. I find it useful to be able to do duplicate searches in batches, so at present I'll set a minimum size, work through them, then lower the size for the next search, but sometimes I've not cleared all the previous duplicates (might be cause there are too many to work through, or that they want there to be duplicates of the particular file(s) on purpose), but as I lower the minimum search size, I end up with the previous duplicates showing up. Having the option to set a maximum file size option for duplicates would allow specifying say, minimum of 5GB, Maximum of 10GB, then could do a batch using minimum of 4GB maximum of 5GB, then 3GB to 4GB, and so on.
Sorry, i have to take back my response that the option is already available. (see the attachment) I meant the possibility of MIN & MAX in the duplicate file search. Now in duplicate file search you can only select the minimum size (red bow in attachment) . So if you have small files, medium files and large files, and you only want to search your medium files, you can only say : search minimal medium . this will also search the lagre files (eg movies) and that takes up a long time. If I could enter min 1MB & MAX 10MB then the large movies (X GBs) will be exluded and the duplicate search would be much faster
OK, although I use the find duplicates option a lot, I never "saw" this possibilty. Forget my request your program has it all :)
The custom file search already has a maximum and minimum size option. The duplicate search already has a minimum size options and tries to prevent reading large files entirely.
SOrry I forgot to mention that the request is for the "find search" section. It only has the option "Search for files biggeer than : ...
Yes, the Biggest File Search is a predefined search that allows to search for large files, and therefore has no maximum size options.
The custom search has both. Please use our contact form to contact support if you don't find it.
